Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 1, 2. — General distribution: Andaman Sea and Indonesia east to Caroline Islands and Fiji, north to Ryukyu and Ogasawara islands, south to northern Australia and New Caledonia. Found on slopes of seaward reefs and in passes, 1 – 40 m depth. Marine.
