Discussion: Subgenus Petteromys. Although some authors have placed this species with D. nanus (Corbet, 1978 c; Ellerman and Morrison-Scott, 1951; F. Petter, 1975 b), Osborn and Helmy (1980) demonstrated its specific distinction. Reviewed by Pavlinov et al. (1990).
