Distribution and habitat. New Ireland: 2. — General distribution: India east to Philippines and New Guinea, north to southern Japan, south to northern Australia. Found in lower reaches of rivers and streams including estuaries, 0 – 5 m depth. Freshwater, transitional water and marine.
